Blue & Green

June 5th, 2018

Dear Humans,
Please be extinct. I can’t take this anymore.
Yes! It’s Environment day, but you can stop doing all that green posters and campaigns.

Fed-up with your hypocritical agendas and campaigns!
Earth.

Well, this day is not far. We have done more damage than good. Whether we choose to believe in flat earth or round earth or square earth, the environment is degrading at a faster rate than people making boomerangs on Instagram.
As usual, FaceBook, Google, and Instagram were coloured in Blue and Green. And pretty much that’s all for today. Maybe, by next year we can see a greener and bluer earth rather than a webpage.

We have India as the host this year with the theme #BeatPlasticPollution. Our rivers are choking on plastic and we are not even thinking twice before asking a plastic carry bag. The average usage time of a plastic bag is 4 minutes and it takes more than 200 years to degrade. That’s quite the mathematical irony we have here.
How well do we know what type of plastic can be used for how many times?

Know your Plastic

It is not that we have run out of ideas to save our environment, we are just too lazy to make a move. Why?

I have picked up some ideas and pins that I came across while browsing the internet and they have the potential to make a big impact.

I came across a DIY where
Our old tees were converted to carry bags. How tough can that be?

Christians form the majority of the population. And so do we have many churches and graveyards and cemeteries.

A simple yet great idea. And so many bonuses. You could even hug one tree and feel like your loved one never left. If all churches decided to go for this change. Just imagine how much forest cover we are gonna have. Just give it a thought.

Black is my favourite colour. But I definitely do not want a black home unless it is in some ever-cold country like Greenland. Black absorbs a lot of heat and reflects less than 20% while white reflects more than 50% heat radiations that fall on it.
All the above statements and environment day? Let me get you the links.

Our roads hold an important share of land. What if we had white roads? I know very well that asphalt and bitumen are black, but what if we painted them white. Well, L.A. has already set a very good example already. If all countries made it a point to have white roads, we could have a much cooler earth. Might sound silly but it has been proven to cause a drop by over 7 degrees.

After all, we wouldn’t want to be extinct at this point in time. We have great movies and shows and talented people coming up. You wouldn’t want to miss any. Or do you?

Signing off, Yours Reshmy Raphy
